Low temperature plasma for human medicine

The project is focused on development of devices for the generation of low-temperature plasma (LTP) for their use in human medicine. The aims of the project is development of LTP devices, research and evaluation of effectiveness and safety of LTP for human medicine, implementation of the methodology, and in the final stage production, certification of plasma devices as medical device and their distribution. The anticipated application potential NTP is expected in the sterilization of biological and thermally sensitive surfaces, the treatment of chronic and infected wounds, ulcers, burns and other dermatological indications, as well as in cosmetics, dentistry, or surgery. The long-term goal of the project predicts the introduction of a new and promising field of plasma medicine into healthcare in the Czech Republic. Plasma medicine has great potential to significantly affect treatment options in diseases with limited therapeutic possibilities, which will ultimately reduce the cost of treatment and improve the quality of life for patients.
