Fiber bundle delivery of high energy laser pulses technology


The aim of the project is to develop a reliable fiber-optic laser pulse transmission system with peak power> 100 MW. The development will be conducted so that the technology can be used together with a laser with a wavelength of 1030 nm, a repetition rate of tens of Hz and n with a pulse length for surface treatment of components and materials. It is mainly research and development focused on technology of production of optical fiber bundle for transmission of laser pulses of extreme peak power. The technology will be verified by protocol during the construction of a prototype bundle of optical fibers capable of withstanding high energy. In order to successfully complete the project and meet its goals, it will be necessary to test intensively the individual technologies of surface treatment and preparation of the beam to the threshold of laser damage, the possibility of attaching the laser beam to the fiber bundle and the transmission capability of the fiber bundle.
